Ever had a sweet scotch egg? Every HEARD of a sweet scotch egg? No?
Pork and chocolate go well together no?
A nice runny yolk mixing in with some lovely icing sugar?
Ok, I got you, no I’m not saying just replace the salt with sugar or add chocolate to the sausage mix. This thing is revolutionary and will change your life (around easter) ;).
This recipe is so easy and is great to try out with kids and get them interested in cooking.
You will need:
- 150g Madeira Cake
- 2 Tablespoons of seedless strawberry Jam
- 4 Creme Eggs
- 30g Desiccated coconut
- And that’s it folks!
Start by breaking the cake up into crumbs. Heat the jam in a small pan until melted. Mix half the jam into the cake crumbs and stir until well combined and smooth.
Remove the foil from the Creme Eggs, then form a coating of the cake mixture around each egg. Lightly brush some of the remaining jam around the edge then roll the egg in the coconut.
Seriously guys this is so easy but so worth it. You’re friends are bound to be impressed and will definitely come back for more.
